Children's library project.
The design site is located on Peizazhna Alley, on Starokyivska Gora. There is a historic building from the end of the 19th century (in a state of disrepair), trees and bushes on the site. The building is located on the edge of the mountain, from where you can see part of Kyiv.
While studying the plot and its surroundings, standing in front of its panorama you see the facade of an old building, trees, sky with clouds, silhouettes of high-rises in the background and a lot of free space. Therefore, the desire to preserve this image influenced the idea of the project, it is a kind of imprint of this picture: the building has been preserved and transformed into a reading room, the cinema has the shape of a cloud that hangs among the crowns of trees - columns, all additional volumes resemble the silhouette of the city. The desire to preserve not only the historical building, but also to preserve the very moment of the present, the moment of how this place looks now, how we see this place right now. The glass dome is a metaphorical shell that protects the children's world from external adversities, and also protects the place from changes. Create a children's city in an adult city.
